Capt. James from the party boat James Joseph III from Huntington reported that 'tog activity has been very good and the only slow day of the week was Sunday. On the charter boat bass are everywhere but the keeper ratio is dropping and smaller fish have been moving in. Some blues are in the mix. The charter boat has dates for November. Blackfish trips sail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Please note that the boat will be sailing on Thanksgiving Day and will return to the dock by 2:30 p.m. The last trip of the season will sail on Sunday, December 2nd.

    Capt. James from the party boat James Joseph III from Huntington reported that in spite of the weather he sailed everyday last week. On Saturday, 13 hearty diehards came aboard and connected with 500 short 'tog and 33 keepers. On Sunday the pool fish hit the 8-pound mark. Tons of bass are in the local waters. A half-day run on Sunday aboard the charter boat saw 100 shorts with 25 keepers along with a limit of blues. The bass and blues fell to diamond jigs. The charter boat has dates for November. Blackfish trips sail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

    Capt. James from the party boat James Joseph III from Huntington reported that activity on the blackfish grounds was fast and furious all week as fares connected with 40 to 60 fish each and most angles limited out. Action slowed down on Sunday after the storm but by 1:00 p.m. there were still 50 keepers on the deck. The charter boat has dates for November charters and there are loads of bass and blues in the Sound. Blackfish trips sail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

    Capt. James from the party boat James Joseph III from Huntington reported that the bottom fishing was excellent during the week. The largest sea bass of the season came up on the rod of Tony Holmes. It checked in at 6-pounds, 25-12 inches. The captain targeted 'tog on the weekend and on Sunday the fares did a smack down as they wiped out five bushels of crabs and tallied a boat limit. The action is so good that the boat is now switching to full day blackfish trips. Aboard the charter boat, diamond jigging for bass has been outstanding once again with loads of shorts and nice keepers to 30-pounds. Good numbers of blues are in the mix. The boat has dates for November charters. Blackfish trips sail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

    Capt. James from the party boat James Joseph III from Huntington reported that he is targeting porgies but over the weekend some nice size 'tog got into the act. A fat 8-pounder took the pool. The captain said the blackfish were found shallow at 15 to 18-ft. Along with loads of porgies the fares also decked sea bass to 4-pounds. The charter jigging trips at night saw an average of 60 bass per trip with a keeper ratio of 10 per cent. The largest bass of the week checked in at 30-pounds, 43-inches. Capt. Jimmy noted that the Triangle area is inundated with bass and blues. If you want to experience some full moon bassing you should book a trip around October 25th. The boat has crabs on board for those who wish to target 'tog. Porgy trips sail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
