Tomo's Tackle

Tomo from Tomo's Tackle reported striper fishing has been good overall. Rocks, the islands in North Shore, Nahant Bay area as well as deep water ledges has produced good amount of legal-size stripers. Schoolie stripers have been found feeding in Salem Harbor, with some feeds lasting for hours. There has also been a few bluefish caught. There has been abundance of mackerel of all sizes in North Shore. Flounder fishing has slowed up a bit, but there are some being caught. Black sea bass and tautog have been occasionally landed as well.

    Tomo from Tomo's Tackle reported pogies showed up in big numbers this week. There are respectable amounts of 20- to 25- pound class stripers being caught in deeper water, a few miles outside of the harbors. School-size stripers have been feeding on small baits inside the harbors. Flies and small metals such as Standard Issue Heavy Minnow have been catching those surface-feeding stripers. Flounder fishing from boat and kayak has been decent overall.

    Tomo from Tomo's Tackle reported striper fishing has been good overall. Rocks, the islands in North Shore, Nahant Bay area as well as deep-water ledges have produced good amount of legal stripers. School-size stripers have been found feeding in Salem Harbor, with some feeds lasting for hours. There have also been a few bluefish caught. There has been abundance of mackerel of all sizes along the North Shore. Flounder fishing has slowed up a bit, but there is some being caught still. Black sea bass and tautog have been occasionally landed as well. Squid fishing has been slow for the most part, with anglers catching single digit a night.

    Tomo from Tomo's Tackle reported striper fishing has gotten better with more stripers in the 10- to 25-pound class showing up in north shore. Large stripers have been found under the schools of mackerel in 100 - 150 feet of water, as well as closer to the shore. A good number of pogies made an appearance in Nahant Bay, Broad Sound and the Cape Ann area. Flounder has been fair to good overall in Beverly, Salem and Swampscott area. Black sea bass and tautog have been caught occasionally on flounder rigs. Squid fishing has been slow to fair overall.

    Tomo from Tomo's Tackle reported there are a good amount of large striped bass in 15- to 30-pound class out in the deeper water between 40 to 100 feet. Saturday Night Ledge has been very productive. Many of the shore fishermen, kayak fishermen and boaters have reported good catches recently along Revere Beach and in Salem Sound. Squid fishing has been slow still but is expected to pick up soon. Flounder fishing in Beverly Harbor has been very consistent.
