Silly Lily Fishing Station

September 9, 2019:
Jay at Silly Lily Fishing Station in East Moriches said a few boats sailed Saturday where fluke action was good in the Elbow area. Triggerfish action also remained good at the rock piles and buoy chains with clams on the hook your best bet. As for stripers, fish to 30 inches were reported in front of the CG Station on the incoming tide. Eels and live spot will account for action on the early fall bass.

Remember, they are easy to clean and are quite good on the table. Blowfish and triggerfish remained very active with the puffers down near buoy 31 and the triggers on the buoy chains and rock piles. For this week, and with crabbing on fire, the shop has a special four-hour rental available for those wishing to try crabbing.

Jay at Silly Lily Fishing Station in East Moriches said the triggerfish action has exploded with anglers scoring fish at well. Clam and a small piece of squid have been the meal ticket at the buoy chains and rock piles. Blowfish can also be caught in the same area. Snappers are active in Tuthill Cove. On the fluke front, the sea robins are very plentiful, but you can cycle through them for fluke. As for sea robins, if you plan on eating a few, keep them cold on ice before filleting for the table.

  • August 12, 2019 Open or Close

Jay at Silly Lily Fishing Station in East Moriches said the rental boats are sailing, and anglers are scoring well with fluke, blowfish and triggerfish. For the triggerfish hit the rocks in either the East or West cuts with clam necks at slack or slow moving tides. For fluke, the West Cut was good Saturday due to the wind, but the East has also produced well. There are tons of sea robins around as well, which still makes for a fun day on the water. They are easy to catch, can be eaten and fight hard. For blowfish, clams and clam chum on the north side of the bay has been best.
