Reel Cast Charters

June 17, 2019:
Capt. Mike of Reel Cast Charters said bigger stripers have been taking eels and plugs after dark. Schoolie action has been great most days with topwater action pleasing the fly and light tackle guys daily. Sea bass fishing remains red hot. Give Mike a call if you want to cash in on the great fishing the areas around the CT River have to offer!

Capt. Mike of Reel Cast Charters said bass fishing is improving, there are more fish overall now and lots more keepers as well. These fish are gorging on sand eels and silversides and they are taking a variety of flies, topwaters and soft plastics. Bluefish are filtering in now too. Sea bass fishing is red hot, if you want to get some for the freezer, now is the time!

Capt. Mike of Reel Cast Charters said, "Striped bass fishing has continued to improve and the topwater bite has been hot. We've also found some good success in deeper water with diamond jigs. We finally caught our first bluefish of the season this week as well. We made a few trips for sea bass which were hot and heavy with limits in the cooler; things are looking good—there's nothing like the June fishing here in New England!"

Capt. Mike of Reel Cast Charters said, "Things are really starting to come together now. The weather is great and more fish are migrating in every day. On the flats in the CT River the bass action has been very good. These fish are seeing a lot of baits, but with some finesse we have been doing very well. We still have not seen our first bluefish of the season, but that will probably change within a week or so. We still have some choice openings for June, call before they get taken!"

Capt. Mike of Reel Cast Charters said, "The rain earlier in the week forced us to readjust our plan a little bit, but it didn't matter. We found piles of school bass and some keepers as well. These fish are taking just about everything we throw from topwaters to jigs to flies to soft plastics. Sea bass opened this week as well and we're really looking forward to trying some of that too. The bite is on, if you want to get in on it, call now and we'll get you out there!"
