Shamrock Charterboat

September 16, 2019:
Capt. Pat Barrett of the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle told me scup action was good with mixed sizes of fish. A few kingfish, weakfish, sea bass and small blues helped provide a mixed bag. Dates for fall charters are available.

    Capt. Pat Barrett of the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle told me porgy action remained good. Saturday's run had a fine mixed bag of cocktail blues from 2 to 4-pounds that fell to diamond jigs, a couple of weakfish, porgies to 2-12 pounds and sea bass to 4-pounds. Pat said he expects more of this variety as the fall weather approaches.

    Capt. Pat Barrett of the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle told me his fares have been hauling in porgies from shorts to 2-pounds. They also connected with kingfish and the occasional sea bass. The bottom species have been chomping on clams and worms. The captain took a shot at bluefish on Saturday night but action was dead slow.

    Capt. Pat Barrett of the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle told me porgy action is still very good. A few more sea bass are in the by catch. Some small cocktail blues have been attacking porgy rigs. The captain said he is looking forward to a fine Labor Day Weekend.

    I heard from Capt. Pat Barrett of the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle and porgy action was outstanding and his customers had a great week of fishing. He noted that a few blues were in the Sound and he will switch the evening runs to target them when he feels the action will be consistent.
