Capt. Brian Bacon at Big Game Sportfishing said that fishing was very good this past week for fluke, sea bass and stripers. They did especially well with fluke catching lots of fish in the 4- to 6-pound range along with a few real double-digit doormats over the 10-pound mark. They had fish over 10 pounds on nearly every trip this past week. Along with the fluke a limit of black sea bass was easily caught on most trips. The striped bass fishing really picked up for the weekend and between Saturday and Sunday they had easy limits of fish from 20 to 40 pounds all caught on light tackle and live eels. Offshore fishing has been a disappointment so far this season with very little positive to report. There have been a few sharks around but almost nothing for tuna the last few weeks.

Capt. Brian Bacon at Big Game Sportfishing reported a crazy week of great action on a variety of fish. A few trips to the canyons produced excellent action on bigeye tuna, while a run up to the Cape put some large bluefin on the deck. Closer to home, it was a week of some large striped bass being landed with several over 50 pounds and a handful in the 30- and 40-pound class landed, too. Bottom fishing has been great for black sea bass with some decent fluking as well.

Capt. Brian Bacon at Big Game Sportfishing reported a very good week of fishing for both inshore and offshore species. They have been mixing up the trips lately and targeted everything from giant bluefin to fluke and sea bass this past week. Striped bass fishing out on the Ledge was excellent late last week and into the weekend with quick limits of fish up to nearly 50 pounds on recent trips. Once charters have their fill of catching big bass they have been making the switch to ground fishing where big sea bass, scup and a few fluke have been providing plenty of action. The fluke fishing hasn't been red hot, but they have been managing a few keeper fluke and usually see limits of big sea bass. Offshore fishing took a turn for the better this past week with giant bluefin tuna moving into areas not far from Block Island. They hooked a couple this past week but have yet to put one on the deck. Shark fishing has also started to pick up with plenty of blue sharks and the occasion mako or thresher showing up in the slick.

Capt. Brian Bacon of Big Game Sportfishing reported another great week of fishing for the Big Game fleet. Striped bass fishing out at Block Island has been improving steadily, and this past week saw some larger fish moving into areas around the island. There were fewer issues with dogfish while fluking around the island this past week which made for much more enjoyable and productive fishing. Sea bass fishing is pretty good, and there have been some big scup mixed-in with the fluke and sea bass.
