Capt. Brian Bacon of Big Game Sportfishing said that they will continue to fish for cod through the month of January and will transition into show season starting in February. Recent cod trips have been pretty productive and on their most recent trip the three man crew they took out had 26 keeper cod, a bunch of black sea bass and a few pollock.

Captain Brian Bacon of Big Game Sportfishing reports that he is still fishing daily (weather-permitting) for blackfish through December 15. After that it will be cod and sea bass through 1231 and then all cod until February. He has a handful of open dates still up for grabs so call him today and get that last trip or twin in before it's too late! He also reminds us that you can buy a Big Game gift certificate for that fisherman in your family and they are available in six denominations. Whether it's for an open boat spot, or to book a whole charter, Big Game has you covered.

  • December 4, 2017 Open or Close

Captain Brian Bacon of Big Game Sportfishing says that the blackfish bite in Rhody remains very good. The season closes on the 15th and should be good right up to the closing bell. They are also getting a sprinkling of black sea bass and cod mixed-in with the catch.
