Southside Marina

November 13, 2017:
At Southside Marina, Rich was out when I called. The stripers are all over and no doubt he's getting in on them. Stop in to see them for all your bait and winterization needs.

Previous Reports

At Southside Marina, Rich said the sea bass fishing has been decent when the weather has cooperated for the guys with the smaller boats. Most of the striped bass fishing has been up inside Sandy Hook in Raritan Bay, but he said there are stripers being caught in Manasquan River around the railroad bridge and the Route 35 Bridge. He's hopeful the weather will start to cooperate more.

At Southside Marina, Rich was out when I called. The weather deterred even the biggest boats from running out to fish most of the weekend, but was expected to turn around early in the week.

At Southside Marina, Rich said lots of folks jumped on the sea bass fishing when it opened Sunday and he heard positive reports for the most part. Boats trolling bunker spoons have been picking up some stripers, mostly north of Barnegat. The false albacore have been thick but on the move so he's not sure how long they'll be around.

  • October 16, 2017 Open or Close

At Southside Marina, Rich said they are catching triggerfish 7 miles out at the Manasquan Reef. There's also a load of small weakfish in 35 feet of water and snapper blues mixed in. The weakfish are 5 to 6 inches long, he said. The lousy weather and wait for stripers kept a lot of boats at the dock, he said, though some were out fishing Sunday, presumably for porgies and blackfish, which continue to be productive.
