Sunday evening saw a successful striper bass trip with Outcast Sportfishing. Capt. Bob Wilson said his charter caught four stripers topped by a 50-pound plus fish. Thursday's offshore trip was just the opposite with no fish and a rough ride back in, Bob said.

One good striped bass trip and one zip was the word from Capt. Bob Wilson of Outcast Sportfishing. Bob said he was encouraged by a good Wednesday trip with bass to 42 inches, but while he read a lot of fish on his late week trip they seemed to have lockjaw. Bob said he will be staying with striped bass fishing this week, but he is looking at switching over to fluke and sea bass if the bass are gone.

Early week windy conditions forced us to reschedule a couple of trips, said Capt. Bob Wilson of Outcast Sportfishing. Bob said hopefully conditions will serve up some good fishing this coming week.

"We slammed the bass in the 30- to 40-pound class off the Hook on Wednesday," said Capt. Bob Wilson of Outcast Sportfishing. Bob said while the fishing was a bit slower on Thursday the boat still limited out with nice fish. By Friday an armada of boats had moved the big bass out of the area and fishing slowed down. Bob told me he moved into the ocean but bunker boats had spooked the fish there, as well.
