Buck Tail Outfitters

April 23, 2018:
Dan at Buck Tails Outfitters reports that fishing has hit an all-time high in the river up near Mays Landing; anglers have been lined up at the bulkhead and bass from 18 to 36 inches are hitting Yozuri Crystal Minnows, Daiwa SP minnows, and bloodworms on a top and bottom rig. Herring are thick in the river and bass are chasing them around. Perch are being caught in good numbers but are finicky, taking smaller bloodworms and live shrimp. Dan reports the water temps up in the river to be at 46 degrees, a bit higher than in weeks past.
