Striped bass action was also the main topic when I spoke with the folks over at Ramsey Outdoors. Anglers stopping by the store are telling of good, but hit or miss fishing with fish in the 20s, 30s and 40s being trolled in Raritan Bay and surrounding waters.

    Another place we got word of the bigger bass on the move was over at Ramsey Outdoors where we were told the bigger fish started to smack things around a few days after the Sunday storm. Most of the better fishing has been by boats trolling spoons, shads and mojos. In addition they said the bottom fishing also improved after the storm with decent number of porgies, tog, sea bass and ling being caught.

    Over at Ramsey Outdoors we were told of spotty striped bass fishing in Raritan Bay and fair fishing in New York Harbor. The best fishing as of this report was big bluefish along the inshore waters and good bottom fishing which is being dominated by sea bass, porgies and tog, they said.

    A call to the folks at Ramsey Outdoors got us a report of increasing striper and bluefish action along the northern coast. The shop got word of some bass and blues popping up on the beaches, along with some albacore. Bass action in Raritan Bay has been spotty by slowly improving, they said. They also mentioned that several anglers stopped by the store to stock up on bottom fishing gear for the sea bass fishing.

    Over at Ramsey Outdoors we were told of continued good bottom fishing with porgies and tog domination the fishing when the boats have been able to sail. However this past week saw several storms cut into the fishing. In addition they mentioned decent bluefish action and a few stripers being caught in Raritan Bay.
