Captain Seth Sportfishing on The Otter said they dodged the storms and made a good week out of it. Blackfishing was red hot; no giants but lots of keepers and fast action. He said this will be their last report of 2019 and wanted to thank all of their customers for an amazing season. He also wanted to wish all Fisherman readers Happy Holidays and a safe and speedy winter—c'mon spring!

Captain Seth Sportfishing on The Otter said that the blackfish catches have been awesome when the wind allows them to get out. He also said that they have been nailing a few nice sea bass while blackfishing and they even had a keeper codfish in the mix on one trip! The Otter season is coming to a close, but there is still time to book a trip and, Capt. Seth has already been booking prime dates for next year, so give a call to claim your day on the water with Capt. Seth on the Otter!

  • October 7, 2019 Open or Close

Captain Seth Sportfishing on The Otter said the bass fishing slowed down at the end of the week but said that things were red hot at the beginning. They enjoyed phenomenal fishing for bass in the 35- to 45-inch class with lots of nice fish landed on each trip through midweek. On Saturday they switched gears and had a blast chasing bonito and bottom fish—results were excellent for both. They are psyched for the start of blackfish season on the 10th, and they have plenty of availability during the week for anyone looking to cash-in on tog, bass or whatever you want to chase. Blackfish don't get the credit they deserve—they are the tastiest and hardest-fighting fish in the Northeast!

  • September 23, 2019 Open or Close

Captain Seth Sportfishing on The Otter said, "Man, it just keeps getting better and better!" The fall run seems to be in full swing in the eastern Sound as Otter anglers have been enjoying nonstop action on bass in the 35- to 40-inch range with some really nice ones in the mix. Seth said they have been catching fish from the first drop to the last this whole week. Doreen Dixon showed the boys how it's done when she nailed a 38-pounder on what was her first fishing trip ever. Bruce's famous Otter Tubes and tails have been crushing them this week. Mixed-bag action has also been red hot with bass, blues, sea bass, porgies, albies and bonito all joining the party. And don't forget blackfish season is just a few weeks away and the Otter has a few openings, book now before they fill up!
