Over at Bernie's B&T on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay the first truly encouraging flounder reports came in on Saturday. The flatties have been taken in the back in Cross Bay and the Cross Bay Bridge. A 2-12 pounder was weighed in for a local tournament. The Canarsie Pier has seen a few flounder and a couple of fluke were caught and released over the weekend. Bass activity has been very good. Ralph said his customers are heading towards Staten Island and scoring with Mojos, clams and bunker. Shorts and keepers are in good supply. Local bass anglers reported most bass were shorts in the 18 to 22-inch class that went for clams and bunker. Shore bound anglers have found herring and shad at the Coney Island and 69th Street Piers. The shop has fresh mussels, blood and sandworms, fresh clams, green crabs and frozen baits. The shop now opens at 6:00 a.m. daily.

    Over at Bernie's B&T on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay the staff reported some encouraging news. Decent numbers of bass have been found at Breezy Point and Staten Island. Flounder activity was dad slow and 'tog have been uncooperative. The shop has fresh mussels, blood and sandworms, fresh clams, green crabs and frozen baits. The shop now opens at 6:00 a.m. daily.

    Over at Bernie's B&T on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay the staff reported some bunker were spotted in the waters of Staten Island. A couple of small bass have been caught and released in Staten Island, Keyport and Breezy Point. The fish were enticed with sandworms. The shop has fresh mussels, blood and sandworms, fresh clams, green crabs and frozen baits. The shop now opens at 6:00 a.m. daily.

    Over at Bernie's B&T on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay the staff reported most customers work the shallow, back areas of Jamaica Bay for spring flounder. Frank still has his tools, cleaners and lubricants on his workbench so drop off your rods and reels for their annual maintenance and repair so you can be locked and loaded for the spring species. The shop has fresh mussels, blood and sandworms, fresh clams, green crabs and frozen baits. The shop now opens at 6:00 a.m. daily.

    Over at Bernie's B&T on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay Jerry Rahn reported the fishing action was basically non-existent. However, a local charter captain told him there were signs of schoolie bass in Jamaica Bay. Frank still has his tools, cleaners and lubricants on his workbench so drop off your rods and reels for their annual maintenance and repair so you can be locked and loaded for the spring species. The shop has frozen baits that include bunker, clams, spearing and squid. The shop's winter hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily but the shop will open at 6 a.m. beginning in April. (718) 646-7600.
