Bob's Bait and Tackle

Bob at Bob's Bait & Tackle in Amity Harbor said lots of casters reported plenty of small bass along Robert Moses and Demo on Saturday but keepers were rare. Most were caught on tins and rubber shads. Better quality fish are off the beach on adult bunker and sand eels.

    Bob at Bob's Bait & Tackle in Amity Harbor said there was a flurry of bass action the latter part of the week along Demo and the Robert Moses parking lots. Most of the fish being taken on tins are shorts, but he did hear of a few bass to the high teens taken on bunker chunks.

    Bob at Bob's Bait & Tackle in Amity Harbor said he heard of some bass into the teens falling to bunker chunks along Cedar Beach over the weekend. A few small blues roaming the State Channel and the inlet, along with some small weakfish up to 2 or 3 pounds.

    Bob at Bob's Bait & Tackle in Amity Harbor said he's heard of a few keeper bass coming from the tip of Demo and also from the backside on plugs and bucktails, mostly at night. A few small blues have been reported from the inlet on tins. Blackfish, mostly shorts, are taking green crabs along the rocks opposite Robert Moses Field 2 and the Sore Thumb.

    Bob at Bob's Bait & Tackle in Amity Harbor said he's had a few reports of bass picked on the backside of Demo and on the Demo Bar, including one fish estimated at 30 pounds. Rough surf most of the week made the open beach unfishable. Bluefish have been far and few between up to this point. Blackfish are taking green crabs along the rocks at Robert Moses and on the Sore Thumb, but most are shorts.
