September 24, 2018:
Michael at Saltwaters Worldwide Outfitters in West Islip said the last half of the week saw the backsides of Robert Moses and Demo, and the Sore Thumb producing blues to 4 pounds and bass to 28 and 30 inches on poppers, tins like 007 jigs and soft plastics. A few albies were reported from the back of Demo. Triggerfish and porgies are still taking worms, clams and squid along the rocks on the back of Robert Moses.

Michael at Saltwaters Worldwide Outfitters in West Islip said Demo and the backsides of Robert Moses have produced some action with small stripers on bucktails and soft plastics. Small bluefish are bouncing around both inlets, along with frigate mackerel – aka frigate tuna. Weakfish are being caught in the area but no one is leaving any details. Sunday was the first day the open beach saw any real effort but no one had reported back.
