Big Mohawk

June 18, 2018:
Sea bass fishing has been serving up some steady catches for anglers fishing aboard the Big Mohawk III. Capt. Chris Hueth said this past week saw one day in port because of the winds and one slow day. Despite some bumpy seas limits of sea bass and heavy numbers of shorts kept the fishing lively on the boat. Chris said the boat is seeing increasing amounts of fluke being caught and he will be making the switch to daily fluke fishing once the sea bass fishing shuts down on this coming week.

It was an excellent week of bottom fishing with sea bass dominating the catch, cited Capt. Chris Hueth of the Big Mohawk III. Chris said plenty of sea bass limits came over the rails thanks to some warmer water temps. However, water temps once again dropped on Saturday and the boat did not sail on Sunday because of the heavy rains that pounded the area. Chris said the boat is bottom fishing daily and will be fishing some evening livelining trips (trips will be limited in number of anglers) for the big stripers this week.

"When we were able to fish the sea bass fishing was decent," stated Capt. Chris Hueth of the Big Mohawk III. Chris said the boat is bottom fishing daily and now that the bigger bass have showed up in the ocean he will be doing some evening stripers trips. Most likely the boat will be livelining so trips will be limited to the number of people they carry. He advises anglers to check his website for dates and be sure to be at the dock early, as the boat tends to fill up quickly for these trips.
