Canyon Runner Sportfishing

July 16, 2018:
Adam said the Canyon Runner Sportfishing crew has seen some of the best fishing they've ever seen in all the years they've been heading to the canyons. Hordes of yellowfin from the local canyons on up to the Hudson Canyon, and virtually every trip has charters releasing yellowfin as they have more than enough to eat. There are plenty of big bluefin up to the 500-pounder caught last week, A couple big blue marlin and more bigeye to add to the total have spiced up the catches. There are white marlin, blue marlin, makos – it's a smorgasbord.

Adam from the Canyon Runner noted that the Glory Hole and the Hudson are especially hot, and Capt. Deane had a charter in the Glory Hole and in two hours had eight yellowfin through the transom via the troll, retaining three. A small hotspot was found between the Hudson and the Dip and it was mayhem as 30 yellowfin of various sizes and a smattering of bluefin were caught. The night yielded a pair of sub-legal makos, with the early daylight troll producing a few yellowfin and one lone bigeye. Capt. Charlie Vanderbeck and Capt. Craig Angelini took the Steve Tolpa party to the same area and had a ball with yellowfin and bluefin.
