Capt. Jim Freda

Capt. Jim Freda is a U.S.C.G. licensed captain. He has been fishing the beaches and inshore waters of the Jersey Shore for over 30 years. Jim is on the National Pro Staff for St. Croix Rod Company, Jack Charlton Mako Fly Reels, AVET Conventional Reels, Fins fishing line, Korkers, Aqua Skinz, Gamakatsu, Spro, and Costa Del Mar.

A highly respected charter captain, author, seminar speaker and photographer he is featured as one of the celebrities on the Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series and as one of the “Stars of the Show” at the Somerset Fly Fishing Show and the Toyota Saltwater Expo.

Jim's  book, Fishing The New Jersey Coast, is a best seller on the market today and has received the “New Jersey Center for the Book Award” as one of the most notable NJ books. He is also co-author of Saltwater Fishing, A Tactical Approach.

Capt Jim is on the water in his 28 Parker Sport Cabin with charters from April through December, targeting striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, false albacore, mahi, and tuna. He lives in Manasquan, NJ with his lovely wife, Mary, and their three children, Christie, Carlie, and Tommy.
