Tim C. Smith Tim C. Smith

Staff Photographer

Growing up on Long Island’s Great South Bay, staff photographer Tim Smith was exposed to boating and fishing at an early age and these pursuits remain among his favorite pastimes. His interest in photography started while in high school, and he was hired as a professional photographer soon after graduation. During the 1990s, Tim added video production to his skill set, producing a successful series of instructional fishing videos and quickly advancing to the front of the line when it came to producing clear, clean and interesting footage covering fishing and outdoors-related themes.

In recent years, Tim’s fishing assignments have taken him all over the Western Hemisphere, from the Galapagos Islands in search of monster marlin, to Alaska in pursuit of barn-door halibut. Tim has consistently embraced the latest trends in photography and videography while maintaining his initial love for the water He now produces plenty of first-rate content for The Fisherman Magazine.

CRUSH BARBS FOR EASY RELEASE, EXTRA SAFETY

Crushing the barbs on your hooks makes it easier to free them from the jaws of bass and blues. It might also help you avoid a trip to the hospital should you get stuck. The Fisherman's Fred Golofaro tackles the task.
