Blackfish - One Hook Rig

Blackfish - One Hook Rig

When blackfish are holding in heavy structure a one-hook rig reduces the odds of snagging. The single hook also allows anglers to concentrate on one bite at a time, which may help improve hook-up ratios. Use small, whole crabs to defeat pesky bergalls, or shelled, quartered or halved crabs if the tautog are in a serious feeding mood. Adjust the weight as needed to keep the bait firmly on the bottom.
