Fluke - Fish-Finder Rig

Fluke - Fish-Finder Rig

This versatile rig works well whether drift-fishing, anchored or fishing from shore. One end of the leader is tied to the hook while the opposite end is tied to the swivel. The running line is then threaded through a plastic sleeve which also has a sinker snap to secure a weight. This arrangement allows the sinker to rest on the bottom while the line can be pulled out without the fish feeling any weight.

Upon feeling a bite, drop the rod tip to allow a little slack so the fish can fully inhale the bait – or free-spool a few feet of line if the summer flatties are especially shy. After waiting a few seconds, tighten up slowly and set the hook when the weight of a fish is felt at the end of the line.
