Capt. Tom's Knot

Like the improved clinch knot, Captain Tom's knot can be used for terminal tackle connections such as line to hook, line to lure, or line to barrel swivel. This knot is easy to tie and holds well.

Step 1

Pass tag end through eyelet of hook or lure.

Step 2

Hold both standing lines between thumb and forefinger.

Step 3

Form three (3) coils around thumb and standing lines.

Step 4

Slide tag end between coils and thumb.

Step 5

Cinch to tighten.

Step 6

Completed Capt. Tom's Knot.
