The Merchantville Fishing Club will hold their 8th Annual Jeff Bajek Memorial Surf Fishing Tournament on Saturday, October 11. This event will be a team and individual tournament along the beaches of Surf City on LBI. Team (six anglers) registration is $100, while Individual registration is $20.00.
An Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC) event, which means the ASAC 72-hour rule applies; “morning of” registration may be limited, so please call or email Gene Aikens at 609-440-6994 or fishnut1965@yahoo.com to RSVP.
Tournament registration will take place at the Surf City Fire Hall located at 813 Long Beach Boulevard in Surf City from 5:30 a.m. until 7 a.m. The first fishing session runs from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., with the second session running from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Lunch and awards ceremony will be held at the fire hall at the completion of fishing.
Beach buggy permits have been waived for the Jeff Bajek Memorial Surf Fishing Tournament, and only vehicles with four-wheel drive and aired down tires (18 psi recommended) are permitted on the beach.
