Berkeley Striper Club To Host Outdoor Fishing Flea Market On May 1

The show must go on!  That’s the word from Berkeley Striper Club announcing that their 26th Annual Fishermen’s Flea Market will be presented outdoors on Saturday, May 1 at Marina Park in Seaside Park (across from Grumpys Bait and Tackle) in Ocean County.

Due to the current health emergency and COVID-19 protocols, this year’s event is being held outdoors at the west end of J Street along the bay next to the Seaside Park Marina.  According to Berkeley Striper Club’s Steve George, the club has been closely monitoring the various state restrictions for outdoor events and capacity limits they we plan to follow all rules set forth by the state on the date of the show.  “We have received a lot of interest from our longtime tackle vendors and custom plug builders and thank them for their continued support of our club,” George said.

The event will once again feature new and used fishing gear, with tables featuring some of the local custom plug builders whose creates are coveted by collectors and hardcore surfcasters alike.  In case of inclement weather, the club has set Sunday, May 2 as a rain date.   For more information go to berkeleystriperclub.org or look for the club’s Facebook page.
