Dockside Café & Marina

Dockside Cafe and Marina reported that their customers are catching plenty of stripers and perch in the river, but everyone will be shifting their attention to flounder for the month of May. Throughout May the bay and the river are still holding stripers and perch, but with the opening of flounder season, many anglers abandon those species in search of flounder that make their way into the bay. May is also prime time for drum, and several nice fish to 20 pounds were caught in the Graveling Point area since early April on clam.

Reports from customers at Dockside Cafe and Marina tell us that perch, black drum and stripers were caught this week. The perch can be found up the Mullica River while the bass are spread out from the bay to mid-river. Bloodworms have been working well on both species. Anglers fishing with bloodworms at Graveling Point are hooking up with the occasional drum, but those fishing fresh clam baits are putting together days with multiple fish to 25 pounds.
