“We have been mixing fluke fishing with bottom fishing to put some fish in the fish box,” said Capt. Joe Paton of Nearfall Fishing Charters. Joe told me most of his trips are putting some keeper fluke in the box along with one fish limits of sea bass and some good size ling. “We are not catching the numbers of fish outside but the fluke we are getting are better size,” he said.

Another boat captain that told us he mixed up bottom fishing with fluke fishing this past week was Capt. Joe Paton of Nearfall Fishing Charters. Joe told us the ling fishing continued to be outstanding and now we are able to throw a nice sea bass in the fish box. Fluke fishing on the other hand continues to be plenty of shorts and a few keepers thanks to the south winds and cold water temps. Joe said water temps did come up a few degrees towards the end of the week and hopefully they will continue to rise this week.
