Capt. Mike Boccio of the Prime Time 3 told me that 2020 blackfish season was another for the books as the blackfish bit mightily till the very end. Although the season saw a good dose of memories, the most rewarding for Capt. Mike and the entire Prime Time Fleet was seeing old friends, regulars and greeting many new friends. The Prime-Time Fleet would like to thank everyone for making 2020 a spectacular season. Have a safe and healthy winter and they will see everyone in April for blackfish and the “May in the Bay” bonanza

A few big sea bass are still in the mix. The Prime Time 3 sails 7 A.M. daily for blackfish and will continue to do so until December 9th. The Jenglo still has some blackfish openings. Capt. Mike Boccio of the Prime Time 3 reports both boats have been enjoying super blackfishing just about every day, especially around the change of tide when the big fish chew best. Most anglers see their limits to 10-pounds, however being as cunning as tautog are, some anglers may only manage a fish or two. Mixing in with the blackfish are still quite a few sea bass. One trip during the week saw a large tautog of around 15 pounds or so dropped at the boat. The Prime Time 3 sails 7 A.M. daily for blackfish. The Jenglo still has some prime dates to book a private charter for blackfish, and codfish/sea bass combo. For more info or to make a reservation call Capt. Mike at (631) 432-4133 for the Jenglo and Capt. Paul for the Prime Time 3 at (631) 522-2002.

Everyday sees full boat limits, and also between 200 to 400 additional keepers and shorts being released. Tuesday saw Capt. Also in the catch were bluefish, blackfish (released), and little tunny. Early in the week all anglers limited with porgies to 18 inches on clam baits.
