For our first report of the week we spoke with Akira over at True World Tackle. He told us this past week was the same old story of some early week catches and late week storms. The better fishing was off the piers along the lower Hudson and inside New York Harbor. Anglers fishing the moving tides got into the stripers and white perch, mainly on bloodworms. Boat anglers did better in the upper bay and backwater areas, Very few blackfish were caught off the piers this past week and most were smaller fish.

Our first report of the week comes from Akira over at True World Tackle who told us anglers started fishing on Thursday afternoon and found a mix of shorts and keepers in the back bay waters. Fishing off the piers along the lower Hudson River was picky during the storm but picked up late in the week when things started to settle down. The upper bay and back bay waters had a lot of debris floating in and out with the tides and boat fishermen had to be careful he cautioned. Some sub legal blackfish were also caught off the piers after the blow, Akira said.
