STRIPERS ON THE MOVE

STRIPERS ON THE MOVE
Evan Katz took a trip down to Ocean City last week to fish the surf and was rewarded with this beautiful 44-inch, 27.2-pound striper on bunker chunk weighed in at Fin-Atics in Ocean City.
The past week was another solid one in Southern New Jersey’s waters as anglers found success at many levels; there were lots of good sized flounder weighed from Brigantine down to Avalon and some fish to 9 pounds graced the ice boxes of local fisher folks. Weakfishing appeared to pick up as anglers figured it out, drifting fresh shedder crabs or bloodworms to box up some decent trout. The jetties of Atlantic City gave up both nice flatties and a few good trout, with bluefish milling around to make it hectic at times. The surf jockeys have now caught some kingfish and can now add that to their bounties, with a solid run of drum still blessing Delaware Bay and the surf around Brigantine. Sea bass fishing out front was good for those who could get a window, winds hampering efforts for a couple days last week. And incidentally, there are reports of some yellowfin and a few sharks now being caught, and you can check out our offshore reports as well.
