FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, June 11, 2018
The "Local Girl" out of Lewes Harbour Marina hit Baltimore Canyon last week for golden tilefish on the deep drop while trolling for both yellowfin and bluefin.
Flounder fishing showed some improvement last week with keepers caught from the pier on Cape Henlopen State Park, Massey’s Ditch, the VFW Slough and the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal. A jig with a Gulp! mullet or crawfish in bright colors has been the hottest setup. The offshore bite really took off with yellowfin and bluefin tuna caught from the Wilmington to the Poorman’s canyons. Right now trolling is the best technique, but soon chumming will take over. On the Chesapeake, chumming for striped bass has been pretty good in most of the usual locations. Love Point, Eastern Bay and Hackett’s have all produced limits in a short amount of time.
