FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, July 9, 2018
Georgia Moir caught her first 23-inch striper with an eel and released one yesterday while fishing in the Lewes Canal. “Girl power,” said Amanda at Lewes Harbour Bait and Tackle.
The weekend was a blow out as thunderstorms on Friday followed by strong north to northeast winds on Saturday and Sunday kept boats in port and made surf fishing a bit difficult. Prior to the bad weather, flounder fishing was showing slight signs of improvement and there were croaker at Indian River Inlet. The slot striper action in Delaware has been keeping anglers happy inside, while a few more tuna were caught over inshore lumps with the best of this action is still in the canyons. On the Chesapeake, the best results continue to come from chumming for striped bass. Trolling and jigging also produce, but the bite is much more scattered.
