FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, November 5, 2018
While fishing a Katydid charter last week, Joe McNeal, Daryl Mergenthaler Jr., Fred Robinson, Sam Scott, Saad M. Soliman, Young Aco, Jackson Aco and Roger Aco did well with sea bass, porgies, and tautog. McNeal would go on to take top slot in the Lewes Harbour Marina tautog tournament with the 5.56-pounder he caught on the charter.
It was a week of high winds and heavy rain that messed up fishing all along the coast. Early reports on Sunday were not encouraging as the gale northwest winds we had on Saturday still had the water riled. Fishing for white perch and catfish is about the only choice available. Trolling and jigging have been the best techniques for catching striped bass on the Chesapeake, when the weather lets you out on the bay. Casting to structure in shallow water has been productive early in the morning.
