New England

Despite a wet, windy and wild to the blackfish opener in Connecticut, fish like this one landed by Kerry Douton of J&B Tackle were had by those who know where to find protected water.
Blackfish are finally an option across all of New England as the fall season opened on Thursday in Connecticut, joining up with the great action already being seen in Massachusetts and Rhode Island the last few weeks. While the late-week bite was noted as “difficult” in most places due to the big nor’easter, by Sunday reports of “easy limits” were pouring in across the region. Expect to see the leader board on the 2019 Dream Boat Fishing Challenge begin to fill up quickly as plenty of double-digit white-chinners are out there to be caught.
