CATCHIN’ IN THE COLD

CATCHIN’ IN THE COLD
A solid steaker cod from a recent trip aboard The Frances Fleet. The weather for the coming week looks good, get out there and fish!
With an Arctic blast of sorts hitting the region on the heels of a little winter weather over the weekend, ice anglers are making plans to hit the hard water in the coming days. Action to the north and west has been good where safe ice has been found, and hopefully a return to normal winter temperatures will expand this opportunity coastward. Out on the cod grounds the boats have been finding positive results when they can sail—which has been spotty—but there remains plenty of bait to hold the fish. There have also been solid reports from the boats sailing out of Long Island and heading south, so there are fish to be had.
