The groundswell effects from Hurricane Irma have made for a surfer’s paradise, but have kept a lot of surfcasters off the beaches; but it’s not to say its been unfishable. Many chunkers are finding loads of 5- to 10-pound blues using bunker and mullet, shorty stripers are hitting hard along the bayside docks during the dark hours and toggers are concentrating on the inlet areas to have some fun with shorty chocolate chip size tog. Best bet this week again is of blues off the bayside docks. Bring bunker or mullet chunks and have a ball.
