FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay

Posted By Nick Honachefsky, October 2, 2017
The whole week was nearly a washout with rough Hurricane Maria swell, but then, the first big chill moved in over the weekend, and boy, did it make a difference. Bluefish really got on a bite, while short bass started showing up and blackfish were snapping like mad. Mullet are stacked in the back and were moving right toward the inlets on Saturday. Watch for the full moon this week on the 5th for them to truly make their mass exodus into the surf. This could be the week it blows wide open with resident bass and big blues pouncing on the mullet schools. Note that the LBI Classic starts this Saturday October 7 as a Super Surfcasting Seminar kicks it off at the Ship Bottom Fire Company from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Team Mullet. Call 609-494-7211 for more details.
