FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay

Posted By J. B. Kasper, October 16, 2017
Yet again warmer than normal temperatures resulted in hit or miss fall fishing action. Decent water levels worked out well for the fall stocking in the streams and first reports show fair fishing in most waters. On the bass fishing front fishing continued to be hit or miss as warmer than normal water temps are holding the fall feed back. Crappie fishing continues to be an evening bite in most waters. Smallmouth fishing in the moving water is supplying some good fishing, especially for anglers who are live-lining minnows. Walleye and hybrid fishing remains decent after dark in a few waters, and some stripers are also being caught in tidal streams and rivers. Catfishing and panfish are supplying good action throughout our reporting area. Rounding out possible action this week are pickerel, northerns, muskies and carp in waters where they are present.
