FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay

Posted By Nick Honachefsky, October 23, 2017
All it took was a dramatic drop in air temperatures during the night hours to spark the first real deal wave of Fall Run fish to get on the move. Some big bass over the 30-pound mark pushed in over the sandbars to gobble up bunker schools that were close enough to snag. False albacore schools were smoking drags from Sandy Hook to Barnegat Light all week long and many are saying this is the largest push of little tunny we’ve seen in our waters in a long time; albies have also shown up down along the Delaware Coast as well. Blues from 1 to 10 pounds are chomping on cut mullet and bunker chunks at any given time of day. No doubt, we’ve started the fall run, it’s time to seriously start planning your sick days wisely!
