BASSIN’ IMPROVES

Posted By Eric Burnley, April 16, 2018
BASSIN’ IMPROVES
Ted Presues caught this impressive 8.15-pound largemouth that he registered at Bill’s Sport Shop in Lewes, DE on April 1 for a live release citation. The monster hog taped out at 23 inches long.
There are a good number of small striped bass in the 18- to 25-inch range being caught from New Castle to Fenwick Island. If you plan to target these fish please crush the barb on your hooks and use lures that have single hooks. If you are fishing in the Delaware River above the South Jetty at the C&D Canal you must use circle hooks when fishing with bait. The best bet for this week will be white perch in the tidal creeks and rivers on bloodworms or live minnows. The Susquehanna Flats saw good catch and release fishing last week. The flow of water from the dam was down and the warm weather made for excellent fishing conditions. This are will be your best bet for this week.
