"Got our butts kicked on the way in, but we hit some tuna," remarked Capt. John Decker aboard Kraken Sportfishing on Saturday evening. It was a daytime troll with the Paul Stepanoff party who roared in from Pennsylvania, and it was a near non stop purple Sterling WideTracker Bar trolling amalgam of mayhem from the likes of yellowfin from 70 to 80 pounds, suicidal 5-pound skipjacks, and loads and more of mixed-size mahi. The 'Weird Catch of the Season" honors look like it's going to what was identified via Google probes to various fish ID sites as a bronze whaler shark. The 10-foot school bus-thick predator pulverized a WideTracker Bar.

"Just a beat down," described Capt. John "Dominator" Decker from his Kraken Sportfishing describing the inshore mayhem engagement between the Steve Baxter Brigade and the hordes of false albacore to 5 pounds and bonito to 7 pounds. Jigging the pink Tsunami Split Tail Minnows was the trigger for near non-stop action. The skipper's canyon schedule is now in motion, and dates are available.
