Ramsey Outdoor

November 11, 2019:
The folks at Ramsey Outdoors told us most of the reports that came into the store this past week were of decent trout fishing in the northern streams. While the number of anglers fishing for the trout has decreased, the ones that are still fishing are into some nice fish we were told. In addition they mentioned some decent bass and crappie fishing in the small local ponds.

They also got reports of some steelhead moving into Lake Ontario tributary streams in New York.

Locally trout streams remain in good shape, with the exception of some leaf problems on windy days. Local lakes and ponds are also serving up some bass and crappies on live bait.

We started our up state report off with a call to the folks over at Ramsey Outdoors. They told us trout fishing took over the number one seed with some nice fish being stocked in all the major streams this past week. First reports showed some picky fishing and plenty of leaves in the water with some nice trout being caught in the Pequest, South Branch, Musconetcong, Paulinskill and Pohatcong. Local lakes have been quiet for bass, but perch and crappies are taking small jig-plastic bait combinations. One angler said he has been using a double rig for the panfish and taking two at a time. We were also told of decent steelhead fishing in Lake Ontario tributary streams in New York.
