    Ben Mahler, general manager of Star Island Yacht Club and Marina in Montauk confirmed that commercial boats are coming back with tuna and swordfish. Once the winds subside, he is sure that the recreational fleet will get back on the bite too.

    Alex, over at Star Island Yacht Club and Marina also had most of their boats staying local fishing for bass and other inshore species. There were occasional reports of smaller sharks and tuna mixed in with the bunker pods along the beaches.

    Alex from Star Island Yacht Club and Marina reported that Chris Cervellino took Matt Stockmall and John Kurdy out to the Edge on SawFish where they scored a 239-pound swordfish. He also weighed two nice bigeyes. Real Savage returned with a 203 pounder, and Tonto with a 164-pound fish.

    Alex, general manager of Star Island Yacht Club and Marina sharking at the horns and butterfish hole has been productive. Thresher sharks have been the most prevalent. The bluefin were around earlier in the week, but the guys that went out this week end had a tough go of it.
