TWO GREAT SHOWS FINISH SHOW SEASON
If you have any interest in salt or freshwater fly fishing, you don’t want to miss the Long Island Fly Fishing Expo on Saturday, March 17th.

Just two more shows remain before spring kicks in on March 20th and both deserve your attention next week. First on tap is the Saltwater Fishing Expo which has moved from Somerset, NJ to a larger venue at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center located just off Route 287 and the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 10 in Edison, NJ. It runs from March 16 through the 18, and if saltwater fishing is your bread and butter, it is definitely worth the trip.

You will find a show floor packed with guides and captains, boats and kayaks, virtually all of the major saltwater tackle manufacturers, and scores of tackle retailers to help you gear up for the fast approaching season. You will also have the opportunity to sharpen your angling skills by attending the many free seminars that run continuously throughout the show.

Show hours are Friday, March 16 from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $3 for kids age 5-11, and children under 5 are admitted free.

Be sure to stop by The Fisherman Booth (462) and say hello to Fisherman staffers. As you walk through the front door, look for our booth towards the front of the convention center in aisle four; and be sure to get there early for your Star Rod pliers or dry bag with a new or renewing subscription.

The address of the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center is 97 Sunfield Avenue in Edison, NJ. For more information about the Saltwater Fishing Expo and $2 off your weekday admission price, visit www.sportshows.com.

Third Annual Long Island Fly Fishing Expo

If you are into salt or freshwater fly fishing, or are looking to get into the sport, there is no better place to be on Saturday, March 17th than the Long Island Fly Fishing Expo, which has moved to a larger venue at the Radisson Hotel, 110 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy in Hauppauge. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new venue provides much more parking, a larger exhibit hall, an 80-seat presentation theater for seminars and the Film Festival, two additional break-out rooms for presentations and an outdoor casting area.

The Expo features salt and freshwater seminars, lots of professional fly tiers demonstrating and sharing their skills with attendees, local guides, fly fishing clubs and organizations, retail tackle and art displays, beginners’ workshops and casting demonstrations. It showcases the art, science and sport behind fly fishing in the area.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about fly fishing for the first time, for experienced fly rod anglers to hone their skills, to learn fly tying, and to hear from professional fly fishermen. For more info, contact ken@arstark.com or call 516-316-3640.
