Dream Boat Challenge
Official Rules

The Challenge is open to The Fisherman Magazine subscribers only. Entry limited to named subscribers only, not entire household. You must be a paid subscriber prior to catching and entering any fish in the Challenge. Fish must be caught within the continental United States in a sporting manner on rod and reel only, and weighed between 12:01 a.m. April 14, 2013 and midnight, November 30, 2013. Fish must be weighed at an Official Fisherman Weigh Station. The angler, not the weigh station, is responsible for submitting weigh-in slip to The Fisherman. All entries must be received by The Fisherman within ten days of weigh-in. Subscription label, or copy of, must be affixed to weigh-in slip. A photo of the Angler and the actual fish entered into the contest must be either enclosed (on disc, or photo paper copy) with weigh-in card, or must be emailed to The Fisherman to dreamboat@thefisherman.com. The photo file name should be the same as the angler's full name. Participating anglers are limited to one prize per category (species) in the final standings.

All Challenge participants agree to be polygraph tested upon signing the entry form. Refusal and/or failure of the polygraph test are automatic grounds for disqualification. Employees of LIF Publishing Corp., NEF Publishing Corp., NJF Publishing Corp., Hydra-Sports Boat Company, BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. All rights reserved. ®, ™ and the BRP logo are trademarks of Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. or its affiliates.), Lowrance Electronics, and Mid-Atlantic Graphics Inc., Costa Del Mar, Daiwa Corp., Berkley, Owner American, Tsunami, International Paint LLC, Global Fish Mounts, Columbia Sportswear, Trigger X, St. Croix Rods, Zancudo Lodge and their affiliates, subsidiaries, related agencies, and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household, and any owners or employees of official Dream Boat Challenge weigh stations are not eligible. Winners must be of majority age in his or her state of residence to accept prize. Parent or legal guardian must accept prize if winner is not of majority age. All decisions by the Challenge judges shall remain final. Any previous Grand Prize Winner of the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge shall be ineligible to win the Grand Prize, but will be eligible to win all other prizes. Judges reserve the right to disqualify questionable entries. The Fisherman and challenge sponsors assume no liability for personal injuries, damages or negligence on the part of anyone while competing in the challenge. No responsibility is assumed for lost, postage due, damaged, illegible, misdirected or late mail. All federal, state and local taxes, insurance, licensing, registration, delivery costs and title fees are the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsors reserve the right to revoke a winning entry and prize winnings if the winner is found to be ineligible. Acceptance of prize requires signing of Release of Liability and Prize Acceptance Form, which constitutes permission to the sponsor and its agencies to use the winner's name and/or likeness and photo submissions for the purpose of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. The Prize Acceptance Agreement also requires the Grand Prize winner to take delivery of Grand Prize boat within a 90-day period. By participating in this challenge and signing the official entry blank, all participants agree to the rules of the game and the decision of the judges. Submission of an Official Entry Form indicates acceptance of these Official Rules.

Scoring System and Prizes:
During the challenge period April 14, 2013 through November 30, 2013, current paid subscribers must catch designated species meeting the minimum weight requirements established for each species (blackfish, porgy/scup, yellowfin tuna, striped bass, fluke, sea bass, bluefish and mahi-mahi). Participants are required to weigh in their catch at an Official Fisherman Weigh Station and mail a certified weigh-in slip to The Fisherman within ten days of the weigh-in. The ten heaviest fish for each species at the conclusion of the challenge shall receive one or more tickets for entry in the "Dream Boat Drawing" for the grand prize, which will be a Hydra-Sports 23' Center Console Boat with an Evinrude E-TEC 250hp Outboard Motor. The Grand Prize Boat awarded will have been previously used for on-water promotional purposes during 2013 and will show signs of use and have hours of operation associated with the outboard motor. Additional prizes awarded with Grand Prize from Lowrance (HDS-8 Gen 2), (Broadband 3G™ Radar) (LHR-880 VHF Radio) and Global Fish Mounts (fish mount of the Grand Prize winners' fish). The following bonus Grand Prizes are available if the contestant drawn is present at the Live Grand Prize Drawing. Bonus prizes are Costa Del Mar (sunglasses), Daiwa (2 - Saltist BG30 Reels), St. Croix (2 Rods), Marine Bottom Paint from Interlux, and a selection of products from: Trigger X, Berkley Pro Spec Line (1lb spool), Owner American Hooks, Tsunami. These bonus prizes will be raffled off at the drawing if the Grand Prize winner is not present at the Live drawing.

A second drawing will award one finalist with a 5-night stay at Zancudo Lodge in Costa Rica (includes accommodations, meals and fishing for two (2) people for five days/six nights). Airfare and all other expenses are not included.

In the event that one angler places first in all eight categories, the raffle drawing will be eliminated and that angler will be declared the Grand Prize winner. The heaviest fish in each category will receive ten tickets, the second heaviest, nine tickets; the third heaviest, eight tickets; the fourth heaviest, seven tickets; the fifth heaviest, six tickets; the sixth heaviest, five tickets; the seventh heaviest, four tickets; the eighth heaviest, three tickets; the ninth heaviest, two tickets; and the tenth heaviest, one ticket. In the event of ties in any individual category, the first fish brought to the scale will place ahead of any other entries of the same weight. Past Dream Boat Grand Prize winners are not eligible to compete in the grand prize drawing. Anyone who has been disqualified from a prior Fisherman Challenge or Fisherman sponsored contest, and their immediate family, are not eligible to compete in subsequent Fisherman Challenges.

Largest of Species: At the close of the challenge, the largest entry in each category (species) will be awarded a fish mount from Global Fish Mounts, a Lowrance LHR-80 handheld radio, Costa Del Mar (sunglasses), and products from: Owner American Hooks, Tsunami, Trigger X Soft Bait, Berkley Pro Spec Line (1lb spool) and a shirt from Columbia Sportswear.

Eligible species and their minimum weights include: bluefish - 15 pounds; fluke - 7 pounds; striped bass - 35 pounds; porgy/scup - 2 pounds; sea bass - 4 pounds; blackfish - 7 pounds; yellowfin tuna - 50 pounds; dolphin (mahi mahi) – 10 pounds.

Fish of the Month: A Daiwa Saltist BG30 Reel and a St. Croix fishing rod will be awarded to the angler catching the largest fish during the designated month for that species. The same minimum weights of the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge apply to Fish of the Month entries. Winners are also eligible for the Dream Boat Raffle, providing their catch places in the top ten of the final standings. Species and their designated month are as follows: May – Fluke; June – Sea Bass; July – Porgy/Scup; August – (2 species) Dolphin and Bluefish; September – Yellow Fin Tuna; October – Striped Bass; November – Blackfish.

Eighty (80) Finalists: Anyone who remains on the Final Standing Board at the end of the Challenge (November 30, 2013) will receive a product from: Owner American Hooks, Tsunami, Trigger X Soft Bait, Berkley Pro Spec Line (1lb spool).
