Almost 4 years to the day since deploying the very first pair of MiniPAT “satellite tracking” devices into a pair of lower Hudson River post-spawn striped bass, the crew from The Fisherman Magazine returns to the NY Bight with our partners from Gray Fishtag Research for the 5th consecutive season of striped bass tagging. This year is a special one however, as the Northeast Striped Bass Study becomes open to the public as the first official StriperQuest event in which 203 striped bass are caught and released with Gray Fishtag Research streamer tags attached, while two jumbo stripers are set free with high-tech MiniPAT devices set for 5 months of tracking.
