22ND ANNUAL JCAA FLUKE TOURNEY - The Fisherman

22ND ANNUAL JCAA FLUKE TOURNEY

The 22nd Annual JCCA Fluke Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 6. This event is actually nine mini-tournaments in one, with each weigh station or port having its own set of prizes for the heaviest fluke brought to the scales including $1,200 in cash for 1st place.

Contestants register in one of nine ports from Jersey City to Cape May, each with easy access weigh stations. You compete only against those boats registered in that port for the generous list of port prizes. Again this year there will be optional calcuttas of $50 and $100 for each port, and $50 and $100 calcuttas for the overall tournament.

There’s also a $50,000 Doormat Fluke prize for anyone catching the largest fluke exceeding 12 pounds which is an optional entry and costs just $25 per boat.

In addition to your chance to win any of the port prizes, every boat entered has a shot at winning the grand prize drawing, a 14-foot G3 boat, equipped with 20hp Yamaha Outboard and trailer donated by G3 Boats, three G3 dealers (Spring Garden Marine, Mercer Marine Supply and Mayberry Sales and Service) with the motor offered by Yamaha Outboards. This and a host of other door prizes will be given away as part of a huge drawing at the gala awards ceremony hosted by the Clarion Hotel on Route 37 West in Toms River on Thursday, August 11 which also features free food and beverages. At least one member from your crew must be present for you to win the Grand Prize and door prizes.

The 2016 Barnegat Bay port prize is donated by South Harbor Marine, the LBI port prize has been donated by Fisherman’s Headquarters, and Manasquan’s port prize has been donated by Hoffman’s Marina. The rest of the port prizes have been donated by JCAA. Major sponsors of this year’s contest include G3 Boats, Spring Garden Marine, Mercer Marine Supply and Mayberry Sales and Service, Yamaha Outboards, Costa Sunglasses, Interlux Paint, Tica Fishing Tackle, Canyon Reels and The Fisherman Magazine.
