SAVAGE GEAR 3D MACKEREL STICK BAIT & 3D SWIM SQUID - The Fisherman

SAVAGE GEAR 3D MACKEREL STICK BAIT & 3D SWIM SQUID

When Mads Grosell set out to design some new saltwater baits for Savage Gear, he wanted to make something that looked just like real forage species in order to fool even the wariest of gamefish. To produce the 3D Mackerel, he got a fresh fish, scanned it with a computer, made the patterns from the fish and printed them directly on the side of the lure. The same process was done to produce the 3D Swim Squid, and the realism and likeness of both of these lures is unmatched on the market today. But these lures have more than just a fancy exterior, the guts are built strong to withstand vicious strikes and lengthy battles from huge predatory fish.

The 3D Swim Squid is not only a dead-ringer for the real thing, it can be rigged to swim in two different directions with line ties at each end of the body to simulate different actions. The lure is available in four different sizes (4, 5, 7 and 10 inches) to cover everything from fluke to tuna, and it comes in five colors (brown UV, pink glow, red/brown, green eye and glow) to match your local squid. The 3D Swim Squid is expected to retail from $13.99 to $19.99 depending on size.

The slow-sinking 3D Mackerel is built with a through-wire that is welded at each end and comes with both Owner DG ST-66 treble and DG in-line single hooks. It is available in three sizes (5, 7 and 8.5 inches), five colors (silver, pink, bone, blue and green), and sports a retail price of $14.99 to $21.99.

Both lures will be available at your local Savage Gear retailer in October, just in time for the fall run of striped bass and tuna, which are sure to gobble-up these lures!
