New Jersey & Delaware Bay - Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay Fishing Reports
New Jersey & Delaware Bay Video Fishing Forecast October 1st, 2026

After the nor’easter this past weekend, winds came up out of the W/NW to start the week, and we already have the very first fall reports of 50-inch and over striped bass along the north coast. We’re on the beach in Bay Head this week for this week’s video fishing forecast at the Jersey Shore; no ‘on camera’ striper blitzes just yet, just a whole lot of lanternflies! But the early signs to our north show the fall striper is may officially underway. Anglers are back in black sea bass in the Garden State, and the head boat fleet is actively sailing (for the most part) from ports up and down the coast. We have our weekly freshwater report from the Poconos, a look at upcoming events including the deadline for sending bunker comments to the ASMFC, and a response to lip synching scientists and awards with a shelf life, all in this week’s full video.

The exciting news from last week was the arrival of big red drum in the surf. We saw reds up to 40 inches caught and released from the beach with some smaller ones also taken as well. Unfortunately, rain and wind moved in over the weekend depriving many anglers from having a shot and these or any other fish.
