The Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC) will host their 23rd Annual ASAC Youth Surf Fishing Tournament this Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. – rain or shine – out of Harvey Cedars Sunset Park on Long Beach Island. Mandatory registration is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for youth anglers ages 5 to 17.
Kids can bring their own surf rod, though a limited number of loaner rods will be available. Plus, kids get a free fishing rod/reel combo for the first 50 children to register sponsored by Giglio Awnings and other generous sponsors. The first 200 kids will also get a t-shirt commemorating the event (children must be accompanied by an adult at all times).
Awards will also be presented to the tournament winners at the conclusion of the event, along with lunch, gift bags, door prizes, exhibits and police displays. The 23rd Annual A.S.A.C. Youth Tournament is presented by the borough of Harvey Cedars, the LBI Fishing Club, ASAC for Kids, PBA #175, PBA #373, Okies Butcher Shop, Surf City Bait & Tackle, Long Beach Township Police Department, and the Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic.
