28th Annual BSC Fisherman’s Flea Market On May 6

The Berkeley Striper Club (BSC) will once again host their outdoor fishing flea market on Saturday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marina Park (J Street) in Seaside Park, directly across the street from Grumpys Tackle.

You’ll find over 30 custom plug builders at Marina Park, along with new, used and custom fishing tackle on sale to the public.  There’s free parking, and food and refreshments will be available.  Admission is just $7, with children under 10 admitted free.

BSC has also partnered with the folks from Grumpys to present a “Saltwater Seminar Series” free to all paid attendees onsite at Yakkity Yak Kayaks, next to Grumpys.  Monmouth University professor John Tiedemann will discuss striped bass at 10 a.m., Scott Thomas will dive into New Jersey’s back bay striper fishery by kayak at 11:30, while noted surfcaster Shell E. Caris talk surf and jetty striper tactics at 1 p.m.

Also, don’t forget about Berkeley’s 19th Annual Catch & Release Tournament from May 27 to June 4.  The annual catch and release striper tournament helps raise money for the BSC Fisheries Defense Fund.  For more information go to berkeleystriperclub.org or check out the club’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bsc.fbpage.
