This Saturday, September 14, the New Jersey Beach Buggy Association (NJBBA) will host their 28th Annual NJBBA Children’s Surf Fishing Tournament at Island Beach State Park.
Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. at OBA-1 (the first Swimming Area) located 3-1/2 miles from the park entrance. Children ages 16 and younger are invited to attend this free event, although NJBBA asks that participants bring their own gear (rod and reel, as well as tackle), though a limited supply of bait will be available.
There will be 14 winning positions available with trophies, gift cards, and a rod/reel combo as awards, along with a free lunch and 135 prizes available for your choosing. In fact, all participants will go home with a prize of their choosing, along with some valuable knowledge of our coastal environment and a little bit of tactical surfcasting experience.
